Catalytic capital for nature’s most important projects
Borneo Rainforest, Indonesia
We combine catalytic capital and co-development to advance high-impact restoration and conservation projects that put biodiversity and local communities at their core.
We turn them into investment-ready opportunities for long-term finance and carbon markets.
Our approach

Select for high impact
We identify projects that protect and restore important ecosystems and deliver meaningful benefits for biodiversity and local communities, alongside credible climate outcomes.

Co-develop for quality and readiness
We work alongside experienced local implementers to strengthen project design, integrity, delivery plans. We prepare projects for investment readiness and the carbon market using our Nature Development System

Deploy catalytic capital to unlock scale
We use philanthropic and other catalytic capital to support critical early-stage work. As projects progress, the aim is to mobilise follow-on funding from impact and institutional investors, supported by credible carbon-market pathways and buyer demand.
Early capital unlocks the next stage of nature finance.
The Trust pools philanthropic and catalytic capital to meet early project needs. Our support advances projects toward investment readiness and carbon-market participation. The Trust’s model is designed to connect this early support with follow-on investment through the Nature Priority Fund and co-investors.

Our Nature Development System

Technology-enabled project development
Our Nature Development System combines hands-on co-development with technology-enabled support to ensure the nature projects’ impacts, quality and investment readiness. It is informed by our assessment of more than 400 nature-based solution projects in the carbon market.

Free technology for projects beyond the Trust
We are developing the system’s technology in partnership with NBS Carbon. Their technology unit will be available free of charge to projects beyond the Trust’s portfolio. By giving more projects access to practical tools and structured support, we aim to help more high-impact projects develop and raise quality and impact across the market
Our trusted partners on the ground
We do not implement projects by ourselves. We work with exclusive partners who have decades of track record on the ground. Together they bring over 170 years of field experience, more than 70 projects delivered with local communities and more than 35 million hectares protected or restored. Community trust is the hardest thing to build, and these partners already have it.
