Why do we act?

Climate change and the loss of biodiversity are among the greatest challenges of our times. They threaten our very existence.

We have over 30 years of expertise in nature conservation and are well equipped to take action. We recognize that while conservation efforts are crucial to save our nature’s treasures and to protect climate, many projects face substantial challenges because they rely on continuous funding and only have a localized impact.

We also recognize that nature conservation is most successful when it directly benefits people, whether through financial benefits or improved livelihoods in local communities.

Driving systemic change

Addressing climate change and biodiversity loss while safeguarding human livelihoods needs innovative funding strategies. Investing in nature-based solutions is crucial.

Current funding is not sufficient to meet biodiversity and climate targets. An increase in funding for nature-based solutions requires private sector investments and new market mechanisms to ensure profitability.

Nature Wealth makes nature conservation investable. We are entrepreneurs – our conservation projects create self-sustaining systems that provide revenues for investors and society.

Business model

Our projects are profitable and produce tradeable goods, from carbon and biodiversity credits to ecotourism and products from sustainable land-use.

Revenue from selling those is reinvested into the project to cover operational costs and ensure project continuation. This benefits local stakeholders by creating dependable income and sustainable businesses through the project. The profit flows back to investors as return on investment.

Naturepreneurship

We employ entrepreneurial thinking in the conceptualisation of our projects on nature conservation and sustainable land-use.

By combining nature conservation with entrepreneurial activities, Nature Wealth is breaking new ground.

We make use of ecosystem services of core protected areas and buffer zones to create an income stream.

Depending on the type of project, income is generated via

  • regenerative land-use (sustainable agriculture and agro-forestry)
  • ecotourism
  • carbon credits
  • biodiversity credits.
